Terms of service

Image to Excel is operated by the provider named in the Legal Notice (Impressum) ("we", "us"). These terms apply where validly incorporated into the service agreement. Merely visiting this website does not constitute agreement to contractual terms.

The Service

The website and Chrome extension extract tables, text or JSON from images and PDFs. The online converter lets you upload files, review results and download tables as XLSX or CSV. The extension also offers area selection, batch processing and export to Google Sheets. Some features require sign-in. The service is intended for people aged 18 or older.

Accounts

You can try the extraction tools without an account. Some features require you to sign in. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in secure and for activity that happens under your account. Usage limits may be applied per device or per account to keep the service available for everyone.

Plans and Usage Limits

Image to Excel is currently offered without charge. The usage limits and sign-in requirements displayed for the requested use apply. There is no paid subscription or automatic renewal. Any future paid offering requires a separate express order.

Changes to ongoing services are subject to statutory requirements. In particular, applicable information and termination rights under Section 327r BGB remain unaffected. These terms do not grant an unrestricted right to change the service unilaterally.

Acceptable Use

  • do not use the service for unlawful purposes or to infringe others' rights
  • only submit images, screenshots, or PDFs you have the right to process
  • do not attempt to overload, disrupt, scrape at scale, or circumvent usage limits or security controls
  • do not attempt to interfere with the website, extraction API, or account systems
  • respect the rights of content owners and the terms of the platforms the content comes from

Third-Party Content and Services

Image to Excel relies on third-party providers to deliver the service:

  • Google Gemini and AI models hosted on Amazon Bedrock (Amazon Web Services) perform the AI extraction for hosted processing — the website's preview tools and the extension's capture, upload, and batch flows alike.
  • Google Sheets is used only when you explicitly choose Export to Google Sheets, through a separate Google sign-in and consent flow.

Our provider agreements govern the Gemini and Amazon Bedrock processing we integrate. When you use Google Sheets directly, the terms of your Google account also apply. Image to Excel is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google, Amazon, OpenAI, or Microsoft, and you are responsible for ensuring you have the right to process the content you submit.

AI Output Disclaimer

AI-assisted extraction is probabilistic and can be inaccurate. Extracted tables may contain incorrect, missing, merged, or misread values. Review the extracted rows, columns, and exported files against the original image or PDF before using them in accounting, operations, compliance, or any other important, legal, medical, financial, or safety-related workflow.

Intellectual Property

Image to Excel does not claim ownership of the images or PDFs you submit or the tables extracted from them. Extracted results and exports are provided for your own use; you are responsible for how you use them and for any rights in the underlying content.

Availability & Warranty

Maintenance, technical faults or provider outages can interrupt the service. Not every file will yield a usable result. Your statutory rights, including any applicable warranty rights for digital products, remain unaffected even when the service is free.

Liability

We are liable without limitation for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, for injury to life, body, or health, under the German Product Liability Act (Produkthaftungsgesetz), and under any guarantee we have expressly given.

In cases of simple negligence, we are liable only for the breach of essential contractual obligations — obligations whose fulfilment makes the proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on whose fulfilment you may regularly rely — and only up to the damage that is typical for this type of contract and foreseeable when the contract was made. The unlimited liability cases above and all other mandatory statutory liability remain unaffected. Otherwise, further liability for simple negligence is excluded. This also applies in favour of our agents and subcontractors.

Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the service if you seriously or repeatedly violate these terms (in particular the Acceptable Use rules) or where required for legal or security reasons; where reasonable, we will warn you first. Your statutory rights remain unaffected.

Changes to these Terms

Updating this page does not automatically amend existing contracts. Changes to terms already agreed require your agreement unless a statutory basis permits otherwise. Continued use alone does not constitute acceptance. Mandatory information, consent and termination rights remain unaffected.

Governing Law & Disputes

These terms are governed by German law, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of the country where you habitually reside.

We are not willing or obliged to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board (Verbraucherschlichtungsstelle).
